Chelsea targets Joe Hart as Thibaut Courtois replacement

JOE HART is a shock name on Chelsea’s shortlist to replace Thibaut Courtois.

The Blues risk angering fans with a £5million raid for the out-of-favour Manchester City keeper, who has just spent a disastrous season on loan at West Ham.Belgium stopper Courtois is wanted by Real Madrid and has yet to agree new terms despite now entering the final year of his Stamford Bridge deal.

The Chelsea hierarchy are admirers of Hart, 31, even though he was left out of England’s World Cup squad and was brutally axed by City boss Pep Guardiola.

Hart is seen by Chelsea and new boss Maurizio Sarri as a good option due to his small price tag — and because he boosts their count of homegrown players.

Daniel James Completes Man Utd Medical

Daniel James completed a medical at Manchester United on Thursday ahead of finalising his £18m move from Swansea, according to report. United are close to completing a deal for the 21-year-old winger and Wales international, who has one year left on his contract, as manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to begin his rebuild of the club. It is understood the initial fee is worth £15m plus an additional £3m in add-ons, with personal terms already agreed. Jose Mourinho was hoping not to be the fall guy this week, but the Manchester United boss couldn’t help himself from tripping over at Wembley before England’s Nations League defeat to Spain.
