Ronaldo shows caring side as he takes time away from Portugal World Cup training to make sick kids’ day

CRISTIANO RONALDO took a break from Portugal training to spend time with two ill children.

The Real Madrid ace, 33, showed his caring side after the two youngsters requested to meet him before he jets off to Russia.

The Make-A-Wish foundation arranged the meeting after Joao and Francisca asked to spend some time with Ronaldo.

In the photos, wheelchair-bound Joao is wearing a Portugal scarf as the 33-year-old kisses him on the head.

Francisca can be seen grabbing the ex-Manchester United star's arm as he chats with her family.

Portugal's official Instagram page shared the photos with the caption: "We all have dreams, but only moist courageous manage to make them reality.

"With the help of Make-A-Wish Portugal, Joao and Francisca got to meet @Cristiano at Football City!"

The Make-A-Wish foundation is a non-profit organisation that arranges 'wishes' for children with life-threatening illnesses.

Ronaldo has returned to training with the Portugal squad on the outskirts of Lisbon after a enjoying a mini-break to Marbella.

During a session with the squad on Monday, he stopped to sign autographs for young fans and flashed a thumbs-up for the camera.

The forward missed Portugal's last two friendlies, but he is expected to feature in Thursday's match against Algeria.

He will then lead his side to Russia, where they face a tough test against Spain, Morocco and Iran in the group stages.
